Abstract


The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the oral health behavior of middle school students, to recognize the importance of oral health activities for systemic health, and to suggest efficient practices for developing and activating various school oral health education programs. From June 01, 2016 to July 20, 2016, a self - filling questionnaire was developed for middle school students in Gyeongnam area. A total of 156 questionnaires were analyzed. 1. Oral health behaviors were significantly related to subjective oral health status (¥â=.627, p<.001), oral health life significance (¥â=.882, p<.001), and self efficacy (¥â=.585, p<.001) and social support (¥â=.634, p<.001) had statistically significant positive effects. 2. In the oral health behavior, the disability of the oral health promotion behavior (¥â=-.596, p<.001) had a statistically significant negative effect. 3. Factors influencing oral health behaviors were significant (p<.001, p<.001) and self-efficacy (¥â=.105, p<.05) It affected. Therefore, the higher the significance and the self - efficacy of oral health life, the higher the oral health behavior of middle school students. The recognition of oral health education that can improve the significance and self - efficacy of oral health life affecting the oral health behavior of middle school students and the development of application of school program are required.
